Health Professional Cards : presentation of the project

- phase 1 : presentation to the European Union and design of a harmonised European face for the HPRO Card,
- phase 2 : studies of competent authorities, different existing cards, possible architectures at a European level and interoperability questions,

Presentation of the project funded by the European Commission (i.e. phase 2 of the overall project): presentation of the different categories of partners in the project and their relation, list of the different workpackages and their deliverables.

Presentation of a project of statutes for a new association gathering the competent authorities : the proposal is to have a representation of the competent authorities in Europe to provide - in long term – a better cohesion between them and disseminate health professionals’ cards (or any tool that meets the same criteria) which would afford a better patient safety and facilitate mobility of health professionals within the EU.

 

Bratislava (Slovakia) – December 11, 2007

Presentation of the first part of the “European health professional card” white paper : A document indicating all the graphic characteristics of the European health professional card (colours, location of the fields ...) was presented.
Possible scenarii to produce and use an HPRO Card : With and without a chip, based on an “HPRO Card checking” process.
Presentation of interoperability standards, on IHE and Prorec : The needs for standardisation, the normalisation organisms (ISO, CEN...) and the missions of IHE and Prorec were presented.


Paris (France) – July 6, 2007

Main topics :

Presentation of the proposals received in relation to the content and the design of the card and adoption of a model : The design for the European health professional card was modified since the Wien meeting and presented for a final validation.

Presentation of IHE : In the idea of evaluating how to involve industrial companies in a cooperation on interoperability issues of  European professional health cards, IHE has been mandated to explain their process and organisation.
