Evelyne Gebhardt, member of the European parliament, has worked in order to exclude health from the general directive on services (Bolkestein Directive).
She welcomed this initiative because it represents a very important work between Orders from several EU member states in order to optimize the European professional card. These partnerships of exchanges and sharing of ideas should bring greater clarity to the Europe of health. Indeed « a better coordination between competent authorities must be sought ».

Bernadette Vergnaud, member of the European parliament, is the author of a report on « Impact and consequences of excluding health services from the directive on services in the domestic market».
She considers that the card offers real progress for patients as well as professionals, and also illustrates how must be built Europe's health. « OK for the mobility of well trained professionals, but not to the uncontrolled medical tourism », and the card responds perfectly to these goals.

Patrick Fortuit, member of the French national council of Pharmacists :
« When a health professional moves from one country to another the card will simplify its administrative procedures, while facilitating the task of the control organism of the host country that receives him. It will easily check, with the authorities of country of origin, his qualifications and any disciplinary history. This card, therefore, plays an important role in patient safety. »
